About the Sexual Health and Wellbeing Clinic
Many people with cancer struggle with sexual health changes due to the cancer itself or treatments. These may include physical, emotional, and relationship changes. Huntsman Cancer Institute鈥檚 Sexual Health and Wellbeing Clinic includes a team of experts who can help address these concerns and improve quality of life for people with cancer. We also partner with the Utah Center for Reproductive Medicine (UCRM) at the University of Utah to help patients with fertility concerns before, during, and after treatment.
How Can the Clinic Help Me?
Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and hormone medicines may affect sexual function, pelvic health, and libido. These changes can have a major impact on a person鈥檚 sense of self and intimate relationships.
The clinic offers a safe place for patients to talk about sexual health issues. We discuss how to prevent side effects and improve sexual function as well as offer treatment options. We also provide sexual health counseling. Counseling can help people learn new ways to cope, strengthen relationships, manage stress, and accept physical changes.
