Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah holds events for patients, families, caregivers, donors, and friends. We also sponsor conferences and seminars on topics of interest to oncology health care providers and researchers. Some events may offer continuing medical education (CME) or continuing nursing education (CNE) opportunities.

Classes & Support Groups

Huntsman Cancer Institute offers many support and education groups for patients and loved ones. These classes and groups are a way to share feelings and connect with others who are affected by cancer.

Annual Amyloidosis Education Seminar

For patients, families, and friends.

Caregiver Education & Support Group

Sessions are available Tuesdays from Noon–1 p.m., through Zoom for Huntsman Cancer Institute caregivers.

Melanoma Patient Support Group

Led by melanoma patient Davis Moore, this virtual group provides support and the latest updates on research and treatments for melanoma patients.

When: Once a month, noon-1 pm

Men’s Cancer Support Group

Metastatic Breast Cancer Support Group

This educational and therapeutic process group for patients with stage 4 breast cancer meets twice a month, once in person and once via Zoom.

Women's Cancer Support Group

Support is here. This group is for women currently in treatment for various cancer types. We meet the first and third Thursday of each month at 1 pm. Contact Rachal Buchanan, LCSW, at 801-213-6373 or email HCHWomensSupportGroup@hci.utah.edu for more information.

Women’s Cancer Survivorship Group

Cancer treatment was hard, but surviving cancer can be too. There is support available. This support group is for women who have been diagnosed and completed treatment for all cancer types.

Young Adult Connections

This social group is for people with cancer ages 18-39 and their partner or a friend. Events are held twice a month, alternating between virtually and in person. These events offer the chance to connect, enjoy social activities, and hear educational presentations about adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer topics. Find event details on the .
