The John A. Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah ranks among the top programs in the nation when it comes to clinical care, research, and education.
A nationwide of eye center chairpersons and residency program directors placed the Moran Eye Center as the No. 11 Best Overall Program in the country.
The latest results, released Nov. 12, also placed Moran at:
- No. 10 in the nation for Best
- No. 11 in the nation for Best Clinical Care Program
About the Moran Eye Center
As part of 麻豆学生精品版, the Moran Eye Center serves as the largest ophthalmology clinical care and research center in the Mountain West with more than 60 faculty members and 10 satellite clinics. Physicians offer care in nearly all ophthalmic subspecialties, making Moran a major referral center for complex cases, with over 145,000 patient visits and about 7,000 surgeries annually.
Moran supports 15 research labs, where internationally-awarded faculty, including one of the world鈥檚 top retinal teams, are developing the treatments of tomorrow. Faculty train 12 residents, four interns, and up to 13 fellows each year in one of the nation鈥檚 most selective and unique academic programs.
More than 500 employees work to achieve the Moran Eye Center鈥檚 vision that no person with a blinding condition, eye disease, or visual impairment should be without hope, understanding, and treatment.
Funded by donors, the Moran Eye Center Global Outreach Division carries out this vision on a local and global scale by providing services to underserved Utahns at no cost and by training doctors in developing countries to sustainably expand access to care.
