Meet HMHI's Incoming Psychiatry Residents and Fellows

Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI) is pleased to announce the 2022 match results for all Psychiatry residency and fellowship programs. A total of 17 resident interns and eight fellows will be welcomed into administered by the Department of Psychiatry - General Psychiatry Residency, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, Triple Board Residency, Addiction Medicine Fellowship, and Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship. The 25 incoming physicians have cultivated their interest in psychiatry and pursued excellence in programs from across the nation, and internationally, representing 19 different medical schools.

On July 1, 2022, these future psychiatrists will begin comprehensive training within their respective programs. As an academic health center committed to preparing tomorrow's exceptional mental health clinicians, residents and fellows receive a breadth of clinical experience by training at HMHI, Primary Children's Hospital, George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and many other affiliated outpatient and residential/partial hospital programs.

Fourteen interns will join the largest training program, General Psychiatry, which offers opportunities for training in specialized rotations, like rural communities and underserved populations. Three interns will begin training as 鈥淭riple Boarders鈥 in a unique program that combines pediatrics, adult psychiatry, and child/adolescent psychiatry. Four Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellows will learn to treat youth across the continuum of care and at every stage of mental health disorders. And four fellows will co-train in Addiction Medicine and Addiction Psychiatry, learning to provide more holistic patient care by helping individuals battle substance use disorders.

We would like to recognize the many program staff, chief residents, associate training directors, and faculty who supported recruitment efforts and greatly contributed to filling our open match positions.
