Fantastic doctor that cares and spends the time to check things out

Dr Shum was incredibly caring and knowledgeable about all my concerns. Even when we didn't have an answer in the allergy world, she was able to refer me to another specialist quickly. She knows the medical world well

I can't recommend Dr Schum enough! She's very thorough, extremely knowledgeable & really listens to what you have to say. She explains your options & allows you to choose how you want to move forward.

I like this doctor but the U of u health care system is lacking in basic customer service

Dr. Shum is really caring and listens to concerns very well. She has great options and explanations for care. I've been here twice now and have learned a lot about my allergies and possible treatments. But I am already seeing quite an improvement in allergy mitigation from my first visit.

Dr. Shum is great to work with. Very personable and very knowledgeable.

For the first visit with Dr. Shum, I felt she did a really good job, even though I had botched the allergy test on accident by taking an antihistamine the night before. I was supposed to abstain from antihistamines for 5 days prior to the visit so they could get a good allergy test result. She still offered to let me do the test, but after talking to her we agreed to try next week. She was able to prescribe 4 medications and a device to help absorb one of the medications better. So it wasn't a waste of time in my opinion. I really did appreciate that at least, as I have had wasted visits with other providers before and it doesn't sit well with me. She was great at listening and very caring and concerned. I will definitely be going back and would recommend scheduling a visit with her if your allergies are bothering you.

Dr. Shum is always very thorough and makes sure all of my questions are answered and that each member of my family receives proper care based on each individual's needs. She is a great doctor! Also, each nurse/technician who has administered allergy testing and allergy shots has been professional and kind. The receptionists have been helpful and kind. I have had only positive experiences at University of Utah Allergy. I feel that me and my family are receiving the best care possible. Thank you!
